HJEM addresses the traditional skills shortage necessary for the renovation and restoration of furniture and manufacture related to both the traditional and modern. Using industry skills related to the furnish and finish of home interiors to transform lives. Working with discarded furniture, turning it away from landfill, delivering training opportunities leading with the traditional trades of carpentry, upholstery, soft furnishings. Integrating digital and design skills, we help individuals build sustainable careers while reducing waste.
Our introductory training course the peripatetic Small House Project, builds confidence in the individual through creative group work activity, leading them on into fully equipped training workshops and various pathways to work. Using environmentally sustainable practices, training craftsmen and women of the future for a better world.

Training Workshops
HJEM a Community Interest Company is a new chapter, building on over 30 years of industry knowledge, experience and social enterprise of our founder. Working with skills trade experts in delivering workshops, passing on their specialist knowledge. Restoring purpose and the opportunity for economic independence to individuals from communities in an area of high unemployment, those furthest from the labour market. Our model directs the trainee to be work ready with non accredited and accredited training courses. Moving the individual towards jobs, working directly with industry leads to fill the labour gap, building careers.
